I've noticed that Christine. Seriously, when I start my day with coffee its not unordinary that I don't eat anything until the late afternoon. It just sedates my hunger like no other. But I can tell you one thing about coffee, it is a camp counselors saving grace. If it weren't for strong camp coffee's-counselors would commit homicide against all lil energy driven crazy kids. But thank the Lord thats not the case. hehe
I didn't really like coffee until I lived a while in Israel. My husband started drinking turkish coffee and I started drinking Nescafe. Those are the two kinds of coffee people drink there. No one uses a coffee maker/filters. Now I have to have a cup every morning or I am in bad shape!
I consider coffee my "performance enhancing" substance of choice...and it is allowed at work...in fact, I would not face a day at the office without it. My employer provides it free, so I wait until I get there to have my first cup. It helps give me additional motivation.
haha I work at Starbucks as well Erin! They reel you in with benefits and then keep you when you become addicted to the product. Its a viscous VISCOUS cycle. ^_~
OK...I found a new cool place for coffee! It is called "It's a Grind!" and it is in the Quail Ridge shopping center (at least that is the one closest to me). I had the Hawaiian Hazelnut and it was excellent. Nice atmosphere inside and has covered patio outdoors, too. All you Raleighites should sheck it out!
i have been living in kharkiv, Ukraine for the last 8 mos. and theres no starbux, no independent joints with good coffee really. i mean its there, but i want the atmosphere! the only place that offers some compromise is a new cafe called Coffee Life. low quality beans but leather seats, hmmmmm......
Would never thought I would be craving a coffee. Of course, I am a fan of the Java City Mocha, sorry to all who drink their black. I just can't handle it yet. lol
yesterday I had to fast before a Dr.s appt at 9 am - it was the worst 3 hrs of awake (sorta) time until I pulled into Starbucks at 9:30 - then all was right with the world.=)
oooh coffee! let me tell you, as you get older, it isn't just for breakfast anymore. When I was in my twenties, and my parents would visit us, I found it delightful and slightly amusing when they brewed a pot of coffee at 3:30 in the afternoon. Well, I am their age now, and I love my afternoon cup!
We are all coffee hounds in my family - and my sisters and I have enjoyed coffee since age 6... We were sound sleepers, and I guess mom figured a little caffeine would help us into our school mornings... hey- it must have been a good thing, we always brought home the best grades!
Coffee drinker since age 12 - they said it would stunt my growth. I'm 6'3" - so I guess I could've been a 7 footer? On the plus side, I don't have to special order shoes. :-)
I drank coffee from infancy, literally. My parent lived briefly with my Dad's parents after I was born. One of the things my grandfather used to have was half a biscuit in his coffee cup, and when he would hold me he would let me taste some of the soaked biscuit. I regularly drank coffee as a child with breakfast , as did my younger brother, although by the time he was is school he lost his taste for it and doesn't drink it to this day. I have switched to decaf.
wow this is interesting! I thought my sisters and I were the only kids who ever got to drink coffee!
and James, your comment hits home.. I used to joke about the "stunt my growth" thing too... Guess I woulda been 6 ft tall! (I am 5"9')
I feel like such a newbie. Started drinking coffee first year of college. Of course, I have to have the sweet stuff in order to drink it. Oh well! At least I'm staying awake and staying warm.
