I kinda miss the old space...

I think they've said that that room is a hold-over until they get a new room all set up with the appropriate wall colors and decorations. I agree though - am looking forward to their moving into a GMM-specific room!

The original article from Atlanta Journal-Constitution . . . not exactly as R&L lay it out to be . . .

Left-lane lurkers could be ticketed under new bill

Left lane legislation photo
AJC file
Rep. Bill Hitchens, R-Rincon, has introduced House Bill 459, which would make it illegal to drive in the left lane except for overtaking and passing another vehicle. The new measure would only apply if another car is trying to get by.

That's very interesting, and the conditions make it much more reasonable than the short description makes it sound.

For instance, I was wondering how that would apply in states like Indiana. Here, the speed limit is 70mph for all vehicles except semis/heavy trucks, for which the limit is 65mph. And there are a *lot* of semis....it's not uncommon for me to travel in the left hand lane for miles because there's a string of 4 or 5 semis I'm trying to get around - and that takes time, so the line between "passing this vehicle" and "traveling in left lane" is kinda blurry. But the details of the proposed bill seems to allow for that (specifically, the allowance for "when traffic make [sic] it impractical to drive in the right lane").

I think the law should also depend on weather. I realize Georgia has decent weather, but if this law gets up to Michigan.....bad things could happen if everyone tried to go the speed limit

I thought this was already the law in most places. I've seen signs in Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri that read "left lane is for passing only."

Yeah, I wondered that too. Maybe it's not as strictly enforced, and the law is trying to remedy that? Also it would be a federal law, meaning applying across the board.

heh this is kinda funny to me since in DC, everyone passes anywhere they want. Right or left doesn't matter here, even in MD.

Haha, I have that mindset...driving is the only arena of my life in which I'm truly aggresive. I'm guilty of some pretty blatant tailgating (although I do hate using the horn). And if you're in the left lane and going slower than me, then I'll pass you in the right lane, ya jerk. :P

A love a quirky ending - TRUTH!!! :)

I totes applauded for an awesome show - YEAH!!! :)
