Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey y'all, not much activity is going on here so I figure I'd try to start some.  Since we're all a part of a group called 'graphic artists' why not put the title to use?  Lets post some examples of our work to share and maybe get some crit (if desired) :)

I'll start by posting one of the first things I found while looking--something I had to make for a class this past semester. We had to make up a store and then design a shopping bag for it, and here is the front panel I made. I somehow lost the rest of the panels, and I know, I apologize for the excessive watermarks; I was just experimenting with them and whilst away from the computer, my original file got saved over with this flattened-and-overly-watermarked version. Tools: Photoshop

My desktop is officially out of commission. All I have left of the things I've made is what I've posted here in the Kommunity and on Facebook.

Here are some links to just a couple of them. There are more in my photo album here in the Kommunity, if you're interested. I used Corel Paintshop Pro X for all of them. Would really like to go to school for this sometime, but in the meantime, it's just a hobby! :)

Feel free to comment/critique...but don't be too harsh. I'm just a graphic design n00b. :)

Well I am all for showing off... I've done plenty of things artsy wise for the Kommunity... I'll post one here that only a select few probably saw... a quick birthday greeting for Link I posted on his Kommunity page! It's part of the instructions sheet I did for the R&L Fold-a-Figures I did (yeah yeah I know it's an old pic I drew that I just colored... but I added a hat to the RhandLer!) I've plenty of art to look at over on my page... and be sure to check out www.remedialcomics.com every Mon, Wed, and Friday to check out the Webcomic "Remedy!" (I draw that now)

Keep on Kommunicating!

Computer crash? Whichever way, that's quite unfortunate.
Buuuuuut vector is cool. Annd your vectors are cool. I like the color scheme of the shoe pic and the background. In terms of crit (and rather nitpicky at that) the right side of the heel on the left has a vertical yellow line extending down to the brown tip of the heel that maybe shouldn't be there. Also, maybe the pink shading should have a more angular cutoff (instead of being so rounded) with where the heal meets the shoe body (if I'm making sense). Those small things aside, it is neat, don't get me wrong. The self portrait is nice too and (also) has a nice background (the fake arm looks good to me :) )

All of my posts always end up so long
Last semester I discovered the joys of vectors, though I used adobe illustrator and didn't do a whole lot (I'll post something!)
Nice caricature of Link!
I can't really view it as a whole since my monitor is only 15" (bummer) though.
You draw for a web comic? Nice.
*Somewhat unrelated* Ever read Nedroid's? It is my favorite, I love it.

Thanks Ben!

Corey, your artwork never ceases to amaze me!
Nikki, here's something I started to do in vector that I currently have access to (the vase).

No one else posting?
Here's something else I did for class, hence I didn't have a lot of time. We were asked to design postcards for an upcoming art show, and these are three of the most-different-from-each-other solutions I had (from a total of like 16).

Here's a good example of the illustrations I like to do, here's my site if you wanna see more: www.catrt.com

Neat stuff, I checked out your site. I liked the texture in some of the pics too, like in 'Watching and Waiting' and 'A curious Fairy.' Did you also add those via photoshop, or where those the sources you actually drew on irl?

Those were sketches irl multiplied over color I added in PS. And thank you!
