A lone teddy bear sat in the mud. It had one eye missing and the seems on the side where coming undone.
A girl, about fifteen in age, with long dark brown eyes came walking through the rain. Her eyes set out and rested on the little bear toy rotting in the mud. "You poor thing," she said. And she walked over and picked the dripping bear up into her arms. "I will have to clean you up," she said as she continued her way back to her home.

opps i meant hair* not eyes

Shade hugged the bear close to her as she opened the door to her house. Her mom was in the other room baking something, and her dad was sitting at the TV whatching some show. Shade went strait to her room and dropped her bag on the floor. Reaching for her sowing stuff, she pulled out a needle and thread.

A hour past before she was done. The side of the bear was fixed and a new eye made from an old, blue button replaced the empty spot on its face. She also had given it a wash.

Picking up her home work, Shade sat down at her desk and started getting it done for tomorrow. The bear was left sitting on the floor.

Shade set down her pen and sat back in the chair. All her work was done and it was getting late, so she quickly changed into some PJs and grabbed a book from the shelf. its cover read, 'Gone in the Deep End.' She had been reading it for the last week, and was in the last three chapters. She was going to finish this book tonight.

The light off, Shade turned on her lamp. Just enough light to read. The way she liked it.

The first chapter only had six pages so she finished it within a half hour. The last two chapters lasted two more hours before she finaly turned off the light and sank into her dream

The next morning came so fast Shade could hardly keep her eyes open when the bus came spinning around the corner.

Shade sat in her seat in the far back of the bus next to the window. The bus driver took off to the school.
"Shade fogith," the teacher called out. "Here" she said not missing a beat. The teacher then started going through the other class mates names. "Alright," the teacher said, today..." that was all Shade heard. She tuned her out and just about fell asleep when the teacher slapped a hand down on her desk. "Shade frogith," she began, " you will not sleep during my class."
Shade stared at her until she retreated back to reading from a science book.

He was late. He came rushing in the room, and sat down at his desk. Shade just about fell back asleep, when the bell rang telling the students class was over. She jurked her head up to see the teacher staring at her. "Dont forget your homework!" she chearfully told the class.

Shade walked to her locker and found someone waiting for her.

Shade stared at the bear. How did he get here? HOW? Someone must be playing a trick on her. But why? She didnt talk to anyone at school. Come to think of it she didnt talk to anybody anywhere. No body knew where she lived. Shade looked around and saw Devin whatching her. She gave him a questioning look.

"Yea, i found it..." She didnt finish. She just stared at the bear, then opened her locker and packed the bear inside. Grabbing a few books, Shade moved past Devin and headed for  her last class of the day. Shade heard a wisper and turned to look around and see who it came  from. But nobody was close enough to have wispered to her. Shade started to freak out when she heard a scratching noise. It was loud and she couldnt see where it was coming from. She walked faster, but this time she headed for the way out.

Pushing the door open, Shade ran as fast as she could feeling like the wispering person was behind her. Right behind her. She screemed as she bumped into someone and fell on the pavement.

Shade was surronded. Men in black clothes closed in on her. "Where is he?" one of them demanded. "i dont know what you are talking about," she replied frightened. One of the men in black kicked out and removed Shade's feet from under her. She fell to the ground with a thunk. The man came closer and picked her up by her hoodie, and dropped her again. "We are not stupid," he said, "we know you have him." Shade's heart pounded like a drum as she tried to stand. But when she did get on her feet the man pushed her back down. "No," he said n a steady voice.

Shade kept quiet. She was to scared to mouth anything back. "Just bring them both," a man in black said, his gray eyes looking at them.

The man that had pushed her over, draged her over to a running van. They brought Devin with.

Shade was tossed into the back and landed on her face. Her arm felt like it was on fire. was it broken? She couldnt tell, her arm was under her and tied. Suddenly the van jurked forword, and spead away from the school. What now? Who was the boy they where looking for? And why? Are they going to kill them? all these questions and more kept tugging at her mind. She looked over at Devin. Why did he follow her?

" First," she wispered back. "Shut up!" one of the men ordered. Shade quickly shut her mouth. A stray tear ran down the side of her face. She hoped the man didnt see it fall. She closed her eyes as more followed. Finaly her body shook and she couldnt control it anymore. She was on her third shake when a gaurd jumped up and kicked her in the side. She screemed and rolled away from the man to a side wall of the van. She fell asleep after two seconds.
