Hello fellow Crafty Critters & Mythical Beasts!

I remember way back in my kindergarten days, we had "show and tell." I was always excited about "show and tell" time and I can remember once bringing in my pet parakeet, Tasha, to show to my classmates. Anyway, I digress, I thought it would be nice to have a show & tell section where we can share pics, etc. about what we are working on. Please show & tell about your creations. :)

One of my current projects is making sculptures from unwanted items (aka "trash"). Whenever I'm ready to throw away an empty container or bottle, "I ask myself what can I make with that?" And I end up saving an assortment of plastic or glass bottles/containers. I also have a collection of burned out light bulbs ranging from the average incandescent bulb to mini halogen ones and floodlights.

Here's a pic of my Recyc-a-lite bird sculptures, named "Flora", "Blueberry Cheeks" and "Pip." My facebook fans helped me name the last two birds, they are always so good at helping me think of names for my critters! :)

Love these--very nice Nikki! I really love the pillow case dress!!! THAT's "upcycling" at it's best!

I enjoy sewing, but I'm definitely a beginner. My favorite thing about it is that you can find something too big/small/ugly at a second hand store, use your imagination, and turn it into something that's attractive and fits! I have an awful time finding things that fit me right, and making/altering my own clothes has really helped me out in that department.

The first picture is a dress made from an XL t-shirt. I made it using a tutorial on Craftster.org. I'd be happy to find the link to it, if anyone is interested in making one themselves.
The second dress was made using a f.r.e.e.! pattern from The Selfish Seamstress (check out her blog if you haven't already). It's called the "Coffee Date" dress. Really easy to make...except for the zipper. I. Hate. Sewing. Zippers.
In the third picture is a peasant shirt I made for my daughter out of a thrifted, vintage pillowcase. She wore it when we met Rhett and Link in NC. :)
Here's another "crafty critter" of mine (hahah). I make these in the fall. This is an original pattern I came up and I'm pretty happy how they turn out. I've made about 30 or so of these for people. Word of mouth at a huge office building is the best advertisement there is!

Very cute piece, Tammy!

Here's a dress I made a couple weeks ago from two thrifted tshirts using a free pattern from http://www.dana-made-it.com/ . It was easy enough I ended up making two more for my nieces.

Thank you so much! I love looking at everyone's creations on here. So inspiring! :)
Okay, I miss this! Surely you ladies have had a few projects going since July? Especially with Christmas coming up soon(ish)!
Nikki,

Okay, here's a new pic of one of my recent projects. I have other pics to post of some new projects. Stay tuned. Anyone else have some new project pics?

Here's a pic of the sneaker box that I made for Rhett's birthday. To see more pics, check out my blog post about my shoe box.

What?! That shoe box is mythical perfection! You, my friend, are one talented individual.
Thank you, Nikki!

I was happy to see my "shoe" box made it into the mail day video, but was bummed to see that my shadowbox just missed being shown in the video. Just in case you're curious to see what the shadowbox looked like, here's a pic of the sneaker shadowbox that I sent to Rhett and Link.
