I hear ya Tracy! I'm super excited about the new show but a little sad about the loss of GMM. I just put together a package (along with my kids) to send to Rhett and Link and took it to the post office this morning. Watched GMM once I got to work and found out that Friday is the last day. There's no way our package will make it there in time for this Thursday! Darn it!

I LOVE your idea of Good Mythical Monday once a week to keep things interactive with the Beasts!

If there really is a live studio audience I might have to talk my hubby into taking a trip to LA sometime in the near future! :)

i just started watching the show now they take it off?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!??!

Look on the bright side . . . if you just started watching then you have a 3-season backlog of 275 episodes to catch up on!

Has anyone made a GIF of Link flexing his biceps?! :'D (heart melts) <3

I thought of that too. Ha!

It'll be interesting to see how well The Mythical Show does. If the Kommunity population is any indication of R&L's larger fan base, many (most?) of their fans are pre-teens/teenagers, who are notorious for their short attention spans.

YouTube has always thrived as a place that caters to such short attention spans. It was only a couple of years ago that the maximum video length for all users increased from 10 minutes to 15, and only users who meet certain requirements can upload anything longer than that (as far as I know). While there's a place for long-form content on YouTube now, the biggest hits remain those 2-5 minute videos -- or even shorter -- that don't require a dedicated amount of viewing time.

I wish them luck, but I think R&L might be misreading the possibilities of the medium in their attempt to deliver consistently TV-length episodes that are not on TV. The difference is definitely the medium: people turn on their TVs expecting content upwards of 30 minutes; they do not go to YouTube for that.

I enjoyed their Christmas special. If it's as good as that, it will be good.

maybe that is part of the reason why they may also post parts of the show individually like they did with the Christmas special?

And actually I rarely watch TV any more  but I do follow 3 UK aired TV shows regularly via youtube. These shows range from 20 minutes to just under an hour. So I do go to youtube expecting content upwards of 30 minutes. Mind you, my teenage years are far behind me. lol.

Well said. At least they have a format that does work well to return to if the Mythical Show doesn't go over as well as expected!

Your point is very well put! I'm sure they've done a whole lot of research before jumping into this, but with risk comes reward!
My sister works for an internet marketing firm and sent me this link the other day that seems to support Rhett and Link's choice! :)

They say the mythical mail boulder will continue and the wheel of mythicalifragiliciousy too. Those are two ways beasts directly interact with them. I get the feeling we care about interacting more than anything else. If Rhett and Link don't increase their activity here (during the making of The Mythical Show (aka Golden Corral)), perhaps they could shoot some feedback shows.

Yay!  I was worried. *wipes sweat from forehead*
