@ Heather - - it's all summed up in the "doubts" you both have.

 

I believe exactly what the Bible says.  If he has doubts about his salvation, then he cannot be truly saved . . .

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. ~ 1 John 5:13

 

And, if you are having doubts about whether or not this relationship is right, it isn't.  And that's not me telling you . . . it's that "still small voice" inside of you.

LOL I was going to bring up the chair lesson but it would have made my response too long.. It's stuck with me for many many years and is probably the only youth lesson I particularly remember.  

Long and short Heather, pray about it and always remember to pray unceasingly for God's to be with you in every moment of the day.   If you keep God with you every moment and you manage to keep that your  focus,  that will guide your life down the right path and people with the same goal will be there beside you.  Others will part ways.

Thank you all for your support. I'ts really none of what you said @Brian Layman the eHermit. It's just one of those "he just makes my heart melt when he looks at me." He is honest, my last boyfriend lied so much. I don't know what it is, it's just what for some reason what my heart wants.

Heather, These guys are right. Believe me on this. I've gone down the path with someone who wasn't fully walking and I went down with him. Thank you Jesus for bringing me back.

I think Christopher gave you good advice Heather.  One thing that you're going to find is that there are many many people out there who say they believe or even wear a cross, but don't live by it.  

You've already told us a couple times that he isn't living out his faith.  So, my question to you is what is motivating you to draw closer to him.  Do you think it is God leading you to a fellow servant who will support you as you strengthen each other in the faith? Is it your body respond to how appealing he is? Is it a confidence issue that tells you (maybe through others) that you really need to be dating someone? Are you going into the relationship for the fun of it? Is it a situation where you want to help  him because he needs someone like you in his life?  

Yeah all of these questions are deep, but every relationship you have helps set the course of your life. Some even more than others.  If your answers might be yes for any but the first of those questions, it's a warning that you should be careful about what you are opening yourself up to.  

& Remember going with the flow, can only lead you down stream..

@Christoher(FUR) I have actually asked him. He admits he has his doubts, but overall believes. He doesn't live by it though. I think I'm just going to go with the flow on this one. I think God has his hand on me in this situation.

@Heather Johnson I think if you are at the age where you're hoping to have a relationship, I think you should address the question to him. You may be pleasantly surprised? Who knows? But... in 2 Corinthians 6:14 it says 

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"
