I think Bradley Lake Park, is like 10 minutes or so from where I work. I would love to attend, but I'm working, and I don't have any GMM gear, nor do I have the money to buy anything to bring :c

OF course still come if you can! :) We would love to have you!

Ok WA Mythical beasts....and possibly some friends down south too....here are the details for our meet up.

We are going to keep it simple. There is a community camp out that starts at 2 at Bradley Lake that day. You are welcome to participate in that as well! Be sure to make your reservations NOW if you want to though, because it has sold out in years past. It is $20 per tent space. (See pic).

We will meet at 1 on the grass between the playground and the Lake. (not far from the parking lot). That should be far enough away from the camp set up to give us some room.

We will be playing "will it taco." PLEASE bring your own pack of taco shells (for you) if you want to play AND one food item of your choice (must be store bought and sealed) to share with everyone.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear any gear you have, bring any music you have of R & L's, decorations, etc. Or just make a poster.

We will only have about an hour, so please be there at 1, or even a bit earlier. And, don't forget to stay for a group pic!!

Have ideas for games? Message me! I'm excited to meet any and all Mythical Beasts out there!

Hello! We're new here, and I have some questions on behalf of my very excited 13-year-old:
1. He's 13 - is that cool? We're becoming fans, too, but he's the rabid GMM fan!
2. He thinks it costs $20 per person to attend - but it looks like that's only if you're camping. Is there a fee to attend? Will we need cash?
3. My husband wants to bring watermelon for "Will it..." - can we bring the pre-cut (but plastic sealed) deli watermelon from the store?

Looking forward to it!

@ Jacqui - - your local host (Shannon) is going to be more familiar with the park than I am (living in Dallas, TX), but just in case it takes a while for her to reply here's what I see:

  1. any and all ages welkomm, 13-20 is probably the majority but there are always Moms & Dads and a few of us old folks
  2. Shannon is staying for the Boy Scouts campout, which costs $20.  This is a city park and not a state park, and their website says nothing about entry or parking fees.
  3. most hosts welkomm and encourage the guests to bring snacks for sharing, unless it's in a mall food court or other location where food is sold.

I've updated the broken link for park's website in the header above, and here's a walk thru video produced by the city park service:

BEAST ON!

Thanks for taking the time to do all that! AND, linking the FB event that I put up just yesterday! WOW are you ever on it! :)

One is happy to serve.

Hi Jacqui! YES, your 13 year old is absolutely welcome...my boys are 14, 10 and 4 (all GMM fans). That makes me considerably older....so yes, adults too!

It is absolutely free! No parking fee either.

The $20 is only for the community camp out that takes place at the park on the same day. That begins at 2pm and goes until the next morning. So if GMM fans want to hang out together for a longer time, then you can reserve a spot and bring a tent. The $20 covers one tent space, hot dogs & s'mores for everyone and a light breakfast. Plus there is music and a movie at dark. It's a fun family event! (There is a screen shot on one of my posts on here with more info)

The pre-cut watermelon sounds perfect! Just don't want to be responsible for any food poisoning going on if people bring opened or home made items. LOL!

Excited to get to meet you all!

Do you have to pay for the community camp when making the reservations?

I think so, yes.

Hey WA peeps...respond here if you attended.....that way we know how to recognize who is who on here and can stay in touch. Also, any ideas for next year...let us know. We had fun meeting with and chatting with you all! Mythicon Puyallup rocks!!
