It was the infamous Facebook Song that first introduced me to Rhett and Link.. I think a lot of people found out about them through that video. It was a point in time where people were desperate to find parodies on Facebook, because of it's rise in popularity amongst high school kids. So here comes along these two funny fellows, and they put together this goofy song about Facebook - and it becomes an anthem. My boyfriend and I used to sing it out loud for goodness sake, because the tune just kept surfacing in our minds, and it just wouldn't go away... so I needed more. More of this insanely addictive hilarity. That is how I found Rhett and Link. Not too exciting a tale, but I felt I needed to answer this question "earnestly". So here we are.
I pulled up Yahoo to check my email and there was a link to the Shamwow video. Have been hooked ever since!
I'm not really sure which video I saw first but I loved it and went to their channel and couldn't stop watching. Mind you it was late at night and I had class the next day but I stayed up and watched video after video. I haven't stopped watching since.
I found you guys actually through my brother, back when you did the Dead Ipod Song I think you were featured on Yahoo so he showed me the video and I was hooked. I kinda forgot about you for a little bit but then you guys were featured on Yahoo again for the Shamwow! Song, I then proceeded to become a full time fan, I have also introduced some of my friends and family to you guys so hopefully you'll get some more traffic.
My first exposure to Rhett and Link was their Phatdippin' video.
I had recently discovered (other internet/youtube personality) iJustine, and she had posted the video on her blog (she had a cameo in it).
After that, I visited their youtube channel, and watched their "The Essential Rhett and Link" playlist.
Needless to say, I was hooked, and I have been a loyal follower of Rhett and Link ever since!
I was looking at videos that other YouTubers I subscribe to had favorited. One of those was the Phatdippin' video (I can't even remember who's channel I saw it on). I then spent hours watching tons more of their videos.
My psychology teacher senior year of high school showed us the Pimp My Stroller/Grammy Red Carpet videos during class (what it had to do with psychology, i dont know). I was hooked!
I saw their facebook song on Facebook - I know, fitting, eh? Anyways, once I saw that I found myself in the depths of their Youtube channel and getting hooked. That was in December of '07. I showed my husband their videos and our kids are now very familiar with R&L and ask for certain songs often. :)
It was this past Christmas time...The Campus Crusade for Christ group at Eastern Kentucky University was getting ready to go to Encounter '08 where Rhett and Link were the emcees. Everyone who had gone in the previous years said that they were HILARIOUS, so as a R&L promotion, they started showing some of the videos at our meetings...like the Facebook song and the Dead iPod Song. I thought they were hilarious and couldn't wait to go! At Encounter they were AMAZING! I laughed so hard everytime they got on stage! They did a Johnny and Bonnie video for like everyday of the conference and also showed us Maine Man...which to this day is still one of me favorites. And the song they wrote about Encounter '08 was great...it tied in everything about the week!
After the conference I started watching their videos and then watched a couple of the kasts on Thursdays...ever since then, I've been an advid R&L fan!
Well, I was doing my usual random search of Youtube and happened to stumble upon the Cheese Rap, lol. Not exactly the most interesting, cool story ever, huh? =)
I saw the ShamWow spot on YouTube by accident earlier this year and I've been soaking up Rhett and Link ever since.
I found Rhett and Link through the American Idol theme (Alexis Cohen). I thought the video was just the greatest. I wondered have theses talented guys done anymore videos besides that one. I did a little research and become a Fan.
