Hello fellow Crafty Critters & Mythical Beasts!

I remember way back in my kindergarten days, we had "show and tell." I was always excited about "show and tell" time and I can remember once bringing in my pet parakeet, Tasha, to show to my classmates. Anyway, I digress, I thought it would be nice to have a show & tell section where we can share pics, etc. about what we are working on. Please show & tell about your creations. :)

One of my current projects is making sculptures from unwanted items (aka "trash"). Whenever I'm ready to throw away an empty container or bottle, "I ask myself what can I make with that?" And I end up saving an assortment of plastic or glass bottles/containers. I also have a collection of burned out light bulbs ranging from the average incandescent bulb to mini halogen ones and floodlights.

Here's a pic of my Recyc-a-lite bird sculptures, named "Flora", "Blueberry Cheeks" and "Pip." My facebook fans helped me name the last two birds, they are always so good at helping me think of names for my critters! :)

Those little shoes are too cute! You are super talented. I was so happy to see your shoe box made it in the video!

I was happy to see my "shoe" box made it into the mail day video, but was bummed to see that my shadowbox just missed being shown in the video. Just in case you're curious to see what the shadowbox looked like, here's a pic of the sneaker shadowbox that I sent to Rhett and Link.

Nikki,

Thank you! Do you have any new pics of your work?

I actually finished sewing a dress for myself last night. The pattern is Simplicity 3835 (Built by Wendy). It's kind of...blah, but hey! $4 dress! And, I'm no good at taking pictures indoors or of myself. So, this picture is pretty blurry. Anywho, here it is.

Nice dress! I like the fabric that you used. I don't think it's "blah!"

I love your birds they are so wonderful and so cute , I really like that you create beautiful things from unwanted items. I like to do that kind of stuff too. Did you use sculpty for the legs. If I can get hold of a digital camera I will post and show you Christmas stockings I made and backpacks I made from old corduroy and jeans.. My favorite was the Totoro backpack I made for my Grandson.
Cee,

Thank you for the compliments about my birds. For the legs and the entire bird, I used a product called Paper Clay that I love, love, love to use. I have used Sculpey for other projects but not for the birds pictured.

Anyone have new projects to share? I miss interacting with my fellow Mythical Beast Crafty Critters. I recently made some angel ornaments. To see more pics of my ornaments, please stop by my

blog post about them.
I love to make things out of Old jeans. Here is one of the backpacks I made. This is the Totoro Backpack I made for my youngest Grandson Xavier

It has a Little pocket on the arm of the Totoro with his name on it

I love Totoro!  What a great idea- your grandson must love it!

Christine your Little angels are adorable and just in time for Christmas : )

This year I decided to make all my own Christmas cards. I went to Michaels and bought lots of holiday stuff that I found on sale. I really didn't have a plan, I was just going to get a bunch of supplies and see what happened. After Michael's I headed over to Half Price books. I thought maybe I could find an old book or two that I could recycle into some awesomeness. I found a copy of The Christmas Carol for like $.32 and AMAZING book Patently Christmas for $1. Patently Christmas is over 150 pages of christmas object patent diagrams! It is fantastic.
And her I present a few of the over 50 christmas cards I made for all my family and friends (and I actually ended up selling a few too)

I do a lot of scrapbooking and cardmaking. Usually, I'm using paper and stamps and accessories but I've been doing more digital crafting recently and I really like it. I post a lot of my project on my blog: stampin365.blogspot.com

I love this discussion. There are so many creative people here!
