Silly Shoe Situation

At the end of July, I told my parents that I wanted - nay, NEEDED - the Mythical Shoe. I have holes in my green chucks and my black patchy chucks (I have three pairs of chucks...for now), so I said they'd be a fine replacement and I really really wanted them please please please! Fortunately for me, I was house-sitting at the time, so they agreed that I could get them with the money from house-sitting.

Well, August 1st, I ordered the shoes at their special discounted price*. I hadn't been paid yet. The neighbor for which I was house-sitting hadn't even come home yet. I was paying (with my parents' money) with the knowledge that it'd be reimbursed. That was August.

But the shoes have started shipping now and I started freaking out cos my neighbor (since returned) hasn't paid me yet and it's been a month... If my parents find out that I got the shoe with $68 of their money, they wouldn't be mad per se, but they wouldn't be pleased. WELL, today, my mom called. I freaked out, thinking that the shoes got sent to their house by accident or something**. She said that the neighbor called and wants to know how much to pay me for watching the house and she'll drop off the money asap.

WHEW!!!

So the money will be reimbursed and no one has to know. :D Except for you all, because I know you'd understand. Right? Riiight??

I'll buy my parents a nice yacht someday to make up for these sorts of things, don't worry.

*No, not $0.01. Don't even get me started.
