Of a point forgotten. (warning pic contains strong language)

Why?

How is it possible for us to forget so thoroughly the point of Christ's sacrifice on that cross nearly 2 millenia ago?

How is it possible for us to ignore the central message of the New Testament?

How is it we've strayed so far from the teachings of a man so gentle and loving his teachings remain the single most far reaching morals ever?

Today I will admit I could be ashamed to call myself Christian. It's not the Westboro Baptist Church, it's not some other small minded hate group, it's a small percentage of the entire Church that has lost it's way. I am saddened.

I ponder that perhaps Christs words in the gospel of Luke Chapter 23 Verse 34 referred not only to the Romans who crucified him but to all peoples yet to come, including us. It stuns me to see people that fail to grasp the concept of Christs death, that it was for all sins, those past, those present and those in the future that he suffered and died, that in that moment of death he took upon himself all sin, all of it. God gave up his son to pay the price for the judgement God had no choice but to give. God is just, he judges us, God is love, he loves us. In this act of torture this message is clear. How is it that it is lost to some of us?

I echo Christ's sentiment, though I have no power to forgive them these sins, I can only pray to the Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

I've read these all over the place. I can't believe it all. It's just so horrible. There is so much hate and people just really need to think before they act.  They think they're clever and open minded. But in actuality they're not, they don't see this because they haven't thought about any of this.

Stupid is as Stupid does . . . these comments are certainly not of a Christian Charcter and far from the sympathy I know that the average American is feeling for the people of Japan.  Such behaviour really requires that we develope a new word to describe these folks . . . the Jackasses and Idiots of the world have already refused to be associated with them.
