Welcome, CJ (Dunehobbit)

In The British Museum

'What do you see in that time-touched stone,
When nothing is there
But ashen blankness, although you give it
A rigid stare?
'You look not quite as if you saw,
But as if you heard,
Parting your lips, and treading softly
As mouse or bird.
'It is only the base of a pillar, they'll tell you,
That came to us
From a far old hill men used to name
Areopagus.'
-- 'I know no art, and I only view
A stone from a wall,
But I am thinking that stone has echoed
The voice of Paul,
'Paul as he stood and preached beside it
Facing the crowd,
A small gaunt figure with wasted features,
Calling out loud
'Words that in all their intimate accents
Pattered upon
That marble front, and were far reflected,
And then were gone.
'I'm a labouring man, and know but little,
Or nothing at all;
But I can't help thinking that stone once echoed
The voice of Paul.'
- Thomas Hardy

I see you left a comment on my wall on January 5. I just noticed it (a month later). Hello right back at you.

I'm the exact same way, I never finish any books I start to write. I guess it's because I never think the story through, I just get the initial idea and think that it's so great and that I should write a book about it. I think I should finish one of those books just for the sake of finishing, because it always ends up that I don't like the story anymore because it doesn't have a point or a moral and I just don't want to write mindless fiction. Now which one to write...? hmm.

That's cool! There's a part in me that loves that style of books. The real stories. The kind that you would retell or reread to kids late in the afternoon.
I remember one night we made a bonfire in the Davis' yard, most of the people were around the fire and some were sitting in the back of a truck. I was in the truck and I got to tell the story of Roverandom to the young'ns.

Ted Dekker is amazing. I just finished reading Chosen and Infidel yesterday. I finally got the time to pick them up at the library. Can't wait to finish the series.
My favorite author is J.R.R. Tolkien, but Dekker's a close second.

Hi! We have the same mythical beast! You like Ted Dekker too? He's one of my favorite authors. I loved the Circle Trilogy and Obsessed.
