Hey! Sorry for the late response. I'm fairly new to transcribing myself, actually!

I use a website called oTranscribe.com, which makes things a lot easier. It lets you upload the audio file directly to the page, and gives you the option to pause, rewind, fast forward, slow down, and speed up with keyboard commands. It's pretty handy and makes thing quicker when you get the hang of it! After that, it's basically just typing up what they say. Also, it's good to omit repeated words and 'um's unless it kicks them off into another thought.
