Most people have had the experience of going to a movie theater, all excited for the new movie that just came out. However, it didn't live up to it's reputation, and you don't want to see that movie again. What are those movies?

WARNING- SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay, but I warned you.

I was forced to go see Earth To Echo a little while back, and it's going for a "Cloverfield" style of filming. (Being filmed by a character in the movie.) It's about a bunch of kids who's phones start malfunctioning in a town. One day, they compare the distortion to a map they find, and it leads them to a piece of space junk in the middle of a field. What ensues is an adventure of trying to find the missing pieces ( and pieces to add onto) the piece of space junk. The junk turns out to be an alien ( who they name "Echo") and they help him return to his home planet.

I have these problems with the movie.

1. It is being filmed by a character in the movie. There is a lot of biking and running and whatnot. Obviously, the camera shakes. A lot. So much, in fact, that I got a headache during the movie.

2. How would they find out the map matches the exact patterns on their phones? Were they just thinking- "Hey, I better make sure that this random distortion on my phone doesn't match any maps in the world." Also, how would they find the specific map? The chances are slim.

3. The actors. They weren't horrible or anything, I just couldn't get attached to them. Except Echo. That thing was adorable.

4. I know it seems like I'm hating on this movie, but it's very cliche. I know- most movies have already been done, and it's hard to come up with new ideas, but I feel like I've seen this movie many times. And, I am an all-out sci-fi geek- this movie just isn't what I like. Now, I know people like it, and that's fine. I know I probably couldn't make a movie that well, but i just feel like there's room for improvement. In most movies, there is.
