want to know more about "The Missing Beatle"?

Part 2 of the 1972 BBC special is also available on YouTube, but the video embedding function is disabled:

I already shared this with a couple of individual MBs but if any group in the kommunity could appreciate the following nostalgic piece of  avant-garde entertainment . . . THIS IS IT!

"The Point" definitely has a "Yellow Submarine" vibe to it and you can see why Harry Nilsson has often been referred to as "The Missing Beatle".

This is the full original version as narrated by Dustin Hoffman:

or watch it here if you prefer to hear Ringo Starr doing the narration in the release to home video:    http://www.youtube.com/playlist = The Point

It's an animated story of an unusual kingdom in which everything and everybody is pointed - except for a young boy named Oblio (provided by Mike Lookinland, best known as young Bobby on The Brady Bunch). Despite his round head, Oblio has many friends. But an evil Count, jealous that Oblio is more popular than his own son, says that without a pointed head, Oblio is an outlaw.

Along with his faithful dog Arrow, Oblio is exiled to the Pointless Forest. There, he has many fantastic experiences - - - including encounters with a 3-headed man, giant bees, a tree in the leaf-selling business, and a good-humored old rock. From his adventures, Oblio learns that it is not at all necessary to be pointed to have a point in life.

The Point! is a fable written by and all music composed and perfomed by Harry Nilsson (his sixth album of the same name) about a boy named Oblio, the only round-headed person in the Pointed Village, where by law everyone and everything had to have a point.

I was on acid and I looked at the trees and I realized that they all came to points, and the little branches came to points, and the houses came to point.

I thought, "Oh! Everything has a point, and if it doesn't, then there's a point to it."

~ Harry Nilsson

I have to say the Beatles are and will be my life heroes.(Even with some of the naughty things they did. LOL!) If it weren't for Yoko, the Beatles probably would have lasted longer. I love the Beatles so much, I named my mouse after Ringo!
