Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Yesterday at the pool in my hometown I was in the process of explaining to my sister the reason I have been sharing videos non stop from "these Rhett and Link" characters. Being that I know probably too much about these guys, I started from the beginning, way back when they met. When I got to the part where Rhett is 11 days older than me, we both noticed a group of teens NOT minding their own business. My sister, at first, just waved at them in her passive aggressive way. I finally stopped talking at looked up at one boy that had a smile on his face from ear to ear, and he said, "Are you guys talking about Good Mythical Morning?" I was, for some reason, both overjoyed and confused. We are from the po dunk Midwest. Why did I think I was the only one at this waterpark that knew about this?

I just replied, "so you are a fellow mythical beast?" The boy said, "yeah, we all are." And that's when I noticed just how much of a crowd that I had drawn! It felt good.

Has anyone else had this type of experience?

Yes . . . there was a discussion thread on this topic floating around last year:

Just remember to ALWAYS extend the "R" so that a mythical beast knows that you mean it no harm.

Sorry I missed that. I'm a noob. Gonna go back and check out other stories. With no fear of sounding ridiculous....um, explain how to extend the "R". Lord knows I don't want to mess up when representing.
Ohh! When I went to the link I saw the instructions on extending the "R". Thanks Gumbo123, there's a def reason your a Kmod!

Yours may be the very first documented sighting of an entire menagerie* of mythical beasts in the wild . . .  not part of a planned or staged event such as an R&L appearance, VidCon or a local MythiCon gathering.

* menagerie  [ məˈnajərē, -ˈnaZH- ]  NOUN - a collective gathering of mythical beasts

yus. i was talking to my friends about rhett and link "I watched this video and it was really funny, you may not know who these guys are but their names are Rhett and Lin-" and then my friend said "You know who Rhett and Link are?" and them im like "You know who Rhett and Link are too?" and then we just started talking about them, then she wasnt interested in them anymore for some reason, who know why. then this happened to me to 2 or 3 other people.

Yeah, there were at least a dozen of them. I'd say mid to late teens. Traveling in a pack so to speak.

At DC Mythicon this year, we actually encountered a non-attending Mythical Beast as we were walking around the National Zoo in our Rhett and Link / Good Mythical Morning shirts. At the zebra exhibit, a girl walked past us and kind of mumbled, "Good Mythical Morning." She was pretty young. Those of us in the group looked around at each other a little bit unsure if she'd said what we thought she said, but she kept going on her way.

My husband was working in the kitchen of our church for VBS and he was singing the Five Nights At Freddie's Song Biscuit with my son while they worked and one of the other volunteers said, "Ah!  Fellow Mythical Beasts!"  And at our Mythicon this year, there was a family bowling next to us and they saw our wheel with the Randler on it and they mentioned Good Mythical Morning.

So cool guys! It's such a good feeling to know we are not alone..

I had an interesting experience last semester in my Japanese class. During one of our group exercises one of my classmates asked if I had ever been in a wheel intro video for GMM. I said yes and he was like, "I recognized you from that!" I also found another mythical beast later on in that same class. She saw me wearing my R&L hat and got really excited!

Since I joined the Mythical Beast ranks before GMM really exploded (I became a fan in Season 1, actually), I sometimes still forget that the Mythical Beast population is sooo extensive now. MBs could be anywhere! It's kind of crazy!

Wow, someone recognized you from your intro? That is impressive!
