Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

We all know that songs sung by kids can be one of the cutest things in the world or just really creepy.  There are about a ton of YouTube videos dedicated to this fact.  What songs do you think are cute being sung by small children and which ones are just creepy?

My six year old son loves to sing in the bathroom.  Today's treat was Mumford and Sons "I will wait" and a few days ago was the Presidential Car Wash song from the Rhett and Link commercial. This was cute.  But I have heard some small kids out in public singing songs that make my face turn three shades of red with embarrassment. I know the kids don't really know what they are singing about but it's still really creepy.  What are ya'll's thoughts on this?

I thought at first you were talking about nursery rhymes and songs with creepy backstories, such as "London Bridge is Falling Down", "Ring Around the Rosey" or (my personal favorite) . . .

Rock-a-bye baby, on the treetop,

When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,

When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,

And down will come baby, cradle and all.

I mean, how sweet is that?!?!?

Nursery rhymes count too.  Ring Around the Rosie is one of the creepiest.  A circle of kids singing together about death from the plague.  This video is great.  :-)

A modern example are the Juggalo kids. I haven't seen a Juggalo kid personally but I have seen some on the web. While family and togetherness are things I strive to teach my children, I do find it disturbing to see a small kid with a punk Mohawk in black and white clown make-up chugging Fago and singing "Boogie Woogie Woo."  Creepy

I have a video of my 3 and a half year old singing Nilla Wafer Top Hat Time (her fave Rhett and Link song), but I haven't posted it yet. :)

I think it's cute to see kids sing cute songs....but not when they are songs with lyrics that maybe shouldn't even be sung by adults.

Example#1: I saw Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who plays Lily on Modern Family, singing to Adele in her car seat in the back of her moms car. So cute!!

Example #2: My neighbour thought it was "so funny" that her daughtes (8 &11) knew all the words to Brittney Spears' "If You Seek Amy" I did NOT find this funny.

Example #3: Today I saw a group of young dancers. (also 8-11 ish) They did a wonderful job as far as dance competition goes. To Beyonce's Single Ladies. Some parts were cute...but some make me cringe. Such sexual moves for girls who's innocence should be protected. I can't imagine how the dad's of those girls must have felt. Yuck.
